London, 2 October 2026 – OMODA&JAECOO UK has recorded its best-ever month, registering 22,296 vehicles and securing a 6.37% share of the UK new-car market in September, according to the latest figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)*.

That is an increase of 106% on the 10,812 cars OMODA&JAECOO UK registered in September 2025, while its market share has almost doubled from 3.45%. Both brands contributed: JAECOO’s share rose from 2.07% to 4.30%, and OMODA’s from 1.38% to 2.07%*. September’s total was also 24% higher than March 2026 – the year’s other plate-change month – when the dual-brand registered 17,951 cars.

The result comes during one of the most important months in the automotive calendar, as the arrival of the new ‘76’ registration plate traditionally brings increased activity across the new-car market. OMODA&JAECOO UK’s record September performance caps a landmark summer for the dual-brand, which became the country’s third-largest automotive brand house by registrations in July, then second-largest in August, when it also placed three models among the UK’s ten best-selling new cars*.

September saw the JAECOO 7 record 10,813 registrations, placing it first in the UK’s best-selling new-car rankings for the month – a position it also held in March, and up from fourth in September 2025.

The record month follows OMODA&JAECOO UK surpassing 100,000 cumulative sales within two years – with OMODA entering the market in August 2024 and JAECOO following shortly afterwards in January 2025. Over the past 12 months alone, its retailer network has grown from 81 sites to 146, and its line-up has doubled from three model families and five powertrain options to six families – the OMODA 5, 7 and 9 and the JAECOO 5, 7 and 8 – with 12 powertrain options.

Retailers have backed that expansion. In the Winter 2026 National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) Dealer Attitude Survey, OMODA scored 8.8 out of 10 overall, against an industry average of 6.9, and was ranked first of 34 franchised networks for both current and future profit return.

Commenting on the results, Victor Zhang, Managing Director of OMODA&JAECOO UK, said: “The new-plate month is the biggest test of the year, and to more than double our registrations – with the JAECOO 7 once again the UK’s best-selling car – shows that OMODA&JAECOO is no longer a newcomer to this market. Two years after OMODA arrived, we have passed 100,000 UK sales and built a network of 146 retailers. That success belongs to our customers, retailers and partners, who have backed us from the start.

“Our job now is to turn rapid growth into lasting strength. That means continuing to broaden our range and technology, while investing in the retailer network, warranty and aftersales support that a fast-growing community of owners deserves.”

Demand for the dual-brand is supported by an expanding choice of petrol, fully electric and hybrid SUVs, including models equipped with its proprietary fifth-generation Super Hybrid System (SHS). More than three-quarters (76%) of OMODA&JAECOO UK’s September registrations were electrified: plug-in hybrids accounted for 55.7%, full hybrids for 10.4% and battery-electric models for 10.0%, while pure petrol models fell from 37.5% of the mix a year ago to 23.9%*. The real-world efficiency of the plug-in hybrid system was recently demonstrated at UTAC Millbrook, where the OMODA 7 SHS-P and JAECOO 7 SHS-P both exceeded their official WLTP combined-range figures. The OMODA 7 SHS-P completed 770 miles – approximately 10% beyond its quoted figure – while the JAECOO 7 SHS-P covered 828 miles, exceeding its official range by 11.14%.

Alongside the continued development of its model range, OMODA&JAECOO UK has strengthened the support available throughout vehicle ownership. In August, it moved key components – including infotainment systems, fuel pumps, alternators and water pumps – onto its full 7-year/100,000-mile manufacturer warranty, and applied the change retrospectively to every OMODA and JAECOO sold in the UK. In September, it expanded its partnership with the RAC, adding a dedicated Vehicle Off Road team and authorising 400 RAC Mobile Mechanics to carry out warranty and recall work at customers’ homes and workplaces. Together, these reflect the dual-brand’s focus on building lasting customer confidence as its presence, vehicle parc and owner community continue to grow across the UK.
