London, 4 September 2026 – OMODA&JAECOO UK maintained its sales momentum in August, recording 6,238 vehicle registrations and in turn securing 6.62% of the UK new-car market*, according to the latest figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Demonstrating strong demand during a traditionally quiet month ahead of September’s registration-plate change, the result follows the dual-brand house surpassing 100,000 cumulative UK sales in less than two years.
The JAECOO 7 remained a top-selling model, with the brand registering 2,022 examples in August. Its performance continued to be driven primarily by retail demand, demonstrating the family SUV’s sustained appeal as households across the UK prepared for the return to school and the routines of September. It placed 2nd in the UK’s top ten best-selling models in August.
Meanwhile, its compact stablemate, the JAECOO 5, which placed 4th in the UK’s top ten best-selling models, followed with 1,670 registrations, while the OMODA 5 delivered another strong result, recording 1,465 registrations across its ICE, SHS-H full hybrid and fully electric range. Both models proved particularly popular with fleet customers, highlighting the growing appeal of OMODA&JAECOO UK’s compact SUVs among business users.
Commenting on the results, Victor Zhang, Managing Director of OMODA&JAECOO UK, said: “August was another excellent month for OMODA&JAECOO UK, and I would like to thank our customers, retailers and partners for their continued support. It is a privilege to see our community growing so rapidly and our brands becoming an increasingly established part of the UK automotive market.
“Our growth continues to come from across the market. The JAECOO 7 remains a firm favourite with private customers, while the popularity of the JAECOO 5 and OMODA 5 among fleet operators demonstrates the breadth of our appeal. With a diverse and expanding portfolio, supported by an extensive retailer network across the UK, we are building a strong and sustainable platform for continued growth.”
August’s performance follows a landmark July, when OMODA&JAECOO UK became the country’s third-largest automotive group by registrations. With September traditionally representing one of the UK market’s most important months, the latest results give the dual-brand house continued momentum as it enters the next phase of its growth.
Supported by a growing retailer network providing comprehensive nationwide coverage, OMODA&JAECOO UK enters the September registration period with an increasingly diverse model range and continued demand across both retail and fleet channels. Combined registrations for the two brands have now reached 67,971* in 2026.
